Today we are up bright and early at 8:45a (2:45a back home) for our first Game of Thrones (GOT) excursion to the city of Osuna. We enjoy a continental breakfast in the hotel lobby before boarding our bus for the 1-hr ride out.

Our guide Miguel took us first to the Museo de Osuna where we enjoyed a Game of Thrones museum. Filming scenes of the 5th season of Game of Thrones, the museum is a space designed for both fans and neophyte visitors. There are incredible original images of the filming that took place in Osuna, original art from national and international artists, licensed replicas, and autographs of almost all the actors and actresses.

After the museum we walked 5-minutes down to Plaza del Marques. A beautiful hotel we had the opportunity to enter and view its beautiful lobby.

Our next stop was for a quick coffee/water break at Cervecería El Litronazo Plaza de Toros. We then walked into the famous Osuna Plaza de Toros where they filmed the GOT scenes of Jorah fighting in the slave pits and the dragon battle in Meereen. We even got a few photos with the actual dragon head used during filming, and the crew donated it after they were done filming.

We had the entire arena all to ourselves so we got some amazing individuals and group photos. But the very best part was as we were about to leave, the staff brought out a giant face-in-hole print of the GOT characters and we all laughed as we jumped in and got our pictures as Daario Naharis, Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen and Missandei, and Jorah Mormont. We then hopped back on the bus for our relaxing ride back to Sevilla.

Back in Sevilla, our bus driver drops the group off in the town center where our Miguel takes us to El Pasaje restaurant for a group dinner of tapas! Yesenia and I ordered a salmon avocado marmalade tapas, a DELICIOUS goat cheese and bread tapas, bull tail and chicken & rice tapas and some beers. We has an amazing lunch with everyone! Afterwards, Yesenia, Maggie Daniel, Doris and I took a 1-hour carriage ride through the town center. Our driver even let Maggie drive through Plaza de España. It was a great way to see the city without having to walk it.

Afterwards, we walked down the street to Torre del Oro. The Torre del Oro is a dodecagonal military watchtower in Seville, southern Spain. It was erected by the Almohad Caliphate in order to control access to Seville via the Guadalquivir river. We paid €3 to enter and it was two floors of museum, and the very top we could climb up to and have a great lookout of the entire city and the river.

We then split off into twos where Yesenia and I walked a couple blocks over to La Plaza de Toros. The Plaza de toros de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla is a 12,000-capacity bullring in Seville. During the annual Seville Fair in Seville, it is the site of one of the most well-known bullfighting festivals in the world. We paid €5 (student discount) to enjoy their 20-minute audio tour, complete with matador costume, bull head taxidermy littering the walls and of course, access to see the beautiful bull ring. It was a 10 out of 10!

We then decided to just walk back to our hotel the scenic route, and ended up stopping at Iglesia Salvador. An incredibly decorated church with a massive altar.

Next on our walk home was Iglesia del Buen Suceso. We are so glad we decided to take the long way back otherwise we would have missed these beautiful churches all together.

We finally had time to rest our feet for about an hour before Mallika, Yesenia and I went across the street from our hotel to Bar Plata for fried camembert, curry chicken, eggplant parmesan, gazpacho, spinach quiche, honey goat cheese, bull tail and patatas bravas.

We get ready for tomorrow morning’s venture to Cordoba.
